Meet Mike Clancy

Mike and his wife, Lynn (a first responder paramedic with the volunteer fire department), are residents of Loudoun County. They are the proud parents of four sons and members of their local Catholic Church. Mike and his family enjoy hiking, running in 5K races, and traveling throughout our great country, especially to visit our National Parks.

Mike is the son of an Air Force sergeant and schoolteacher. He was one of five children and grew up on Air Force bases all across the country.

Mike’s parents instilled in their children the values of faith, family, integrity, hard work, and service to others. These values have guided Mike throughout his life.

Mike spent many years of his youth in scouting and earned the rank of Eagle Scout.

His first job: working as a bus boy when he was 15. Later he worked as a construction laborer and painter, among other jobs, as he worked to pay his way through college and law school.

Mike’s education since high school has focused on government, law, technology, cybersecurity, healthcare, and medical ethics.

Mike received his B.A. with High Honors in Government and Philosophy from the University of Notre Dame.

​Mike then went on to law school, receiving his Juris Doctor (J.D.) with Honors from The George Washington University Law School and later completed the Executive Education Program on Cybersecurity Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government as well as Federalist Society programs on constitutional law.

Mike has also focused on the critical issue of healthcare. He studied healthcare policy and bioethics at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine, receiving a Master’s Degree in Bioethics, and completed the Harvard Medical School Executive Education Program on Artificial Intelligence (AI) Solutions for Healthcare.

Mike began his legal career as an attorney with the Department of the Navy’s Office of the General Counsel, where he received the Navy Superior Performance Award and the Navy Commendation Award for his work as a trial attorney.*

Today, Mike is a senior executive and lawyer with a global technology company; and serves on the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce Policy Committee.

Mike leads a team responsible for a multi-billion-dollar business sector focused on government (including the Department of Defense, Homeland Security, and cybersecurity), education, and healthcare.

Mike is recognized as a leading corporate counsel. He has earned Martindale-Hubbell’s AV Preeminent Peer Review Rating given to attorneys who are ranked at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal expertise, communication skills, and ethical standards by their peers; and he has received numerous corporate awards for his leadership and outstanding contributions as a lawyer.
